QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's junior Priscilla Frederick will travel to Eugene, Ore., to represent the Red Storm in the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Frederick will compete in the high jump event in her third straight trip to the Championships. The Sicklerville, N.J., native qualified for this week's event by placing seventh at the East Regionals two weeks ago.
Frederick has put together an impressive list of accomplishments during the 2010 outdoor season, winning the ECAC Championships in the high jump, breaking her own school record twice, and finishing the season with the eighth-best height among all NCAA Division I field athletes.
Frederick's top jump of 1.84 meters came at the outdoor ECAC Championships. Although her best height is tied for eighth in the country, Frederick will enter the Championships seeded sixth as two jumpers with higher marks did not qualify during the Regional meets.
Frederick earned All-America status at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships by finishing tied for eighth place in the high jump.
The finals of the high jump will begin at 7:45 Eastern Time on Wednesday night. The entire Championship meet will run through Saturday. The NCAA Championships Central website will post live results and feature streaming video throughout the four-day event. The STJ Track & Field twitter account will also post live updates during Frederick's event.
