QUEENS, N.Y.--St. John's alumnus Keegan Bradley is back on the competitive links on Tuesday as part of a very select foursome of players. As the 2011 PGA Champion, Bradley will take part in the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, a two day event featuring the four major champions from the 2011 season.
Bradley will tee off at 9:30 a.m. EST, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Port Royal Golf Course (Southampton, Bermuda) along with 2011 Masters Champion Charl Schwartzel, 2011 U.S. Open Champion Rory McIlroy and 2011 British Open Champion Darren Clarke.
The event has been held since 1979 as a four-way competition between the winners of that year's four major tournaments. This year's competition will mark the first time in the event for all four players in the PGA Tour's version of an All-Star Game.
The tournament features 36 holes of stroke-play golf, played over two days, with the winner taking home a nice $600,000 prize. However, no one goes home empty-handed, with second place receiving $300,000, third place getting $250,000, and fourth place taking home $200,000.
The festivities have already started in Bermuda, with the four golfers taking part in the annual Champions Clinic, where they showcase and explain the best parts of their game to the fans gathered at Port Royal. Bradley chose to teach on the art of the belly putter, a signature piece of equipment that has been experimented with many of the world's best since the Red Storm great hoisted the Wanamaker Trophy in August.
Both rounds will be shown on TNT at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday and Wednesday. For more information as Bradley continues his phenomenal rookie campaign at the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, log on the RedStormSports.com and follow the Red Storm men's golf team (@STJ_MensGolf) on Twitter.
