Stone Adds Boston College's Chelsea Regan As Grad Assistant

QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's head women's soccer coach Ian Stone looks to add additional NCAA Tournament experience to his staff as he adds Boston College alumna Chelsea Reganas his graduate assistant coach.
Regan joins the Red Storm after an illustrious playing career as a four-year starter and team captain for the Eagles. She was part of Boston College's 2010 NCAA Women's Soccer College Cup, back-to-back NCAA Women's Soccer Elite Eight (2009-2010) and 2008 Sweet 16 squads.
With Regan and the recent addition of Red Storm alumna Courtney Curby, both new assistants played in the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
"From her time with PDA, Chelsea Reganhas always been one of the premiere soccer players in this area," remarked Stone. "Her wealth of knowledge at the highest level of women's college soccer will prove invaluable to both our staff and players."
Regan also played on the Eagles' 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference's Co-Champions team. She won BC's 2010 Team Leadership award and also earned New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association's All-New England first team honors in 2010 and NEWISA second-team honors in 2007 and 2008. She was also named to the Top Drawer Soccer All-freshman second team in 2007.
A Raritan, N.J., native, Regan played in 86 games for the Eagles and started 84, she finished her career with five goals and four assists. As a junior in 2009, she notched a career-best three goals and one assist from the defensive midfield position.
In addition to her successes at Boston College, Regan also played with the U.S. National Team at the Under-15, U-16 and U-17 levels. She traveled abroad to Germany, Scotland and Holland with the U-17 adidas All-Star team. Before playing at Boston College, she earned 2006 PARADE Magazine All-America honors and was a third team AP New Jersey All-State selection as a four-year starter for Bridgewater-Raritan. Regan also played club ball for the Player Development Academy (PDA) Fury.
Regan, who graduated Boston College with a dual bachelor degree in English and communications, was also named an ACC Academic All-American in 2007 and 2008.
