St. John's Opens Four-Game Road Swing At Wagner

QUEENS, N.Y. - After taking two-of-three games against West Virginia to win its second-straight BIG EAST series and conclude a four-game homestand with a 2-2 mark, St. John's (15-12) opens a four-game road trip with a non-conference game against Wagner (11-17). The Red Storm and Seahawks take to the field for a 3:30 p.m. game on April 3.
Leading Off
- After hitting at just a .210 clip in the first nine games (3-6), the Red Storm is batting .290 in the past 18 games (12-6) to up its team batting average to .264 through 27 games this season.
- Red Storm batters have drawn the most walks in the BIG EAST (129) and have the second-fewest strikeouts (146). Sean O'Hare is tied for the league-lead in walks (20), while Matt Wessinger ranks tied for fourth (18)
- St. John's has totaled 56 two-out RBI on the year, a total that accounts for 41.5 percent of the team's total RBI (135). Wessinger (12), O'Hare (9) and Jeremy Baltz (7) are among the team leaders in two-out RBI.

Walk-Off Win No. 2: O'Hare Sac Fly Lifts St. John's Past West Virginia
- Sean O'Hare lifted a bases loaded sacrifice fly into deep left center field to plate the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth and give St. John's a 7-6 walk-off win against West Virginia (March 30).
- The walk-off win was the second of the season for St. John's, which previously notched an 11-9 win against Northern Illinois (Feb. 25) courtesy of a Matt Wessinger two-run blast in the bottom of the 10th inning.
