Team Notes
- The Red Storm led 40-22 at halftime, its largest halftime lead of the season. The only time this season St. John's scored more points in the first half was against Hofstra (Nov. 17), when they led, 43-31, at the half.
- 72 points were one point shy of STJ's season-high set in the 73-47 victory over Hofstra (Nov. 17).
- St. John's five 3-pointers made were its most since making five against Tennessee Tech (Dec. 15).
- St. John's 26-point win tied its largest margin of victory this season. The Red Storm also defeated Hofstra by 26 points (Nov. 17).
- The Red Storm out rebounded Seton Hall, 43-28, and shot better from the field, the free throw line and from 3-point range.
- St. John's finished with 24 bench points, eclipsing its previous season-high of 14 set against Texas (Nov. 11). Its +14 differential in bench points doubled the team's previous season-high also set against Texas (Nov. 11).
- St. John's shot a season-high 51.9 percent from the field on 28-for-54 shooting.
- St. John's 72-46 victory over Seton Hall marked the third time this season the Red Storm snapped an opponent's winning streak this year. The Red Storm snapped Hartford's five-game winning streak (Nov. 25), Rutgers nine-game home winning streak (Jan. 6) and Seton Hall's three-game winning streak (Jan. 12).
Individual Notes
- Junior guard Keylantra Langley went 7-for-8 from the field, scoring a career-high 16 points. Langley's previous career-high was nine points which she recorded three times, with the last occurrence coming last season against Hartford (Dec. 4, 2011). The contest also marked the first time in the junior's career she scored in double-figures.
- Freshman guard Aliyyah Handford scored in double-figures for the fifth time this season and for the third-consecutive game. Handford finished two points shy of her career-high with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and pulled down eight rebounds.
- Senior guard Shenneika Smith scored 18 points and grabbed four rebounds. The game marked the 10th time this season and 82nd time in her career that Smith scored in double-figures.
- Senior guard Nadirah McKenith flirted with a triple-double tallying nine points, nine rebounds and six assists and tied a career-high with four blocks. McKenith has dished out five or more assists for the eighth time this season and 60th time in her career.
- Sophomore forward Amber Thompson scored seven points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The game marked the third time this season and seventh time in her career Thompson finished with double-digit rebounds. Thompson has now grabbed 10 or more rebounds in three of the last four games.
- Freshman guard Cedrica Gibson saw her first action of the season. She returned to the bench after sitting out the first nine games with various injuries.
