QUEENS, N.Y. - Freshman goalie Diana Poulin was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. In addition to Poulin's accolade, sophomore forward Rachel Daly earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the third straight week.
Daly and Poulin guided the Red Storm to a 1-0 week after defeating Seton Hall, 1-0, at Belson Stadium on Saturday evening. St. John's is now 9-4-3 overall and 3-3-2 in conference action.
Poulin, earning the honor for the third time this season, posted the fifth shutout of her rookie season to improve to 9-3-2 on the season. Poulin recorded one save against the Pirates as the St. John's defense limited Seton Hall to only one shot on goal.
Daly makes her appearance on the conference Honor Roll for the third week in a row after scoring the winning-goal against the Pirates. With her league-leading 18th goal of the season, Daly set the St. John's all-time single season goals record.
The Red Storm returns to Belson Stadium for an 8 p.m. match on Saturday against DePaul. The game will be broadcasted live on StormTracker All-Access.
