With the win, the Red Storm moves to the 4-0 on the season, its best start since 2009-10 when St. John's won its first seven games.
In the first half, St. John's forced five turnovers and capitalized on each by scoring 10 points off those turnovers.
The win over the Bobcats marked the second time in four games that the Red Storm has had two players record double-doubles. Junior forward Amber Thompson had 12 points and 10 rebounds and sophomore guard Aliyyah Handford scored 27 points and grabbed 11 boards.
St. John's had three or more players score in double-figures for the third time in four contests this season. Along with Thompson and Handford, senior guard Briana Brown tallied 16 points to go along with eight rebounds.

Individual Notes

Freshman guard/forward Jade Walker played her first collegiate minutes and made an instant impact by recording a block and scoring a basket on her only shot of the game.
Sophomore guard Aliyyah Handford scored 27 points and collected 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the young season.
Freshman guard Aaliyah Lewis tied her season-high assists total with six.
Senior guard Briana Brown's 16 points marked a season-high. She was three points shy of matching her career-best 19 points that she set at Providence on Jan. 30.
