Team Notes
- With the win, the Red Storm moves to the 4-0 on the season, its best start since 2009-10 when St. John's won its first seven games.
- In the first half, St. John's forced five turnovers and capitalized on each by scoring 10 points off those turnovers.
- The win over the Bobcats marked the second time in four games that the Red Storm has had two players record double-doubles. Junior forward Amber Thompson had 12 points and 10 rebounds and sophomore guard Aliyyah Handford scored 27 points and grabbed 11 boards.
- St. John's had three or more players score in double-figures for the third time in four contests this season. Along with Thompson and Handford, senior guard Briana Brown tallied 16 points to go along with eight rebounds.
Individual Notes
- Freshman guard/forward Jade Walker played her first collegiate minutes and made an instant impact by recording a block and scoring a basket on her only shot of the game.
- Sophomore guard Aliyyah Handford scored 27 points and collected 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the young season.
- Freshman guard Aaliyah Lewis tied her season-high assists total with six.
- Senior guard Briana Brown's 16 points marked a season-high. She was three points shy of matching her career-best 19 points that she set at Providence on Jan. 30.
