Aaliyah Lewis Tabbed BIG EAST Rookie Of The Week

QUEENS, N.Y. - The Red Storm had two student-athletes earn weekly conference honors as freshman guard Aaliyah Lewis was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week and sophomore Aliyyah Handford was tabbed to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
In the Red Storm's 81-76 win over Harvard, Lewis had 19 points and five steals, both career-highs, to lead the second half comeback against the Crimson. The Staten Island, N.Y. native had set a career-best in points in the Red Storm's previous contest against Florida where the freshman put up 13 points. She concluded the week averaging 16.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.0 steals in St. John's (5-1) 1-1 week.
Handford was named to her third-straight Honor Roll after another stellar week in which she averaged 21.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. The Newark, N.J. native picked up her fourth 20-point game of the season in the win over Harvard, she finished with 25 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Up next, St. John's heads to Auburn for a 6 p.m. game on Friday, Dec. 6.
