Expected Inclement Weather Cancels Baseball BBQ, Franco Appearance

QUEENS, N.Y. - The expected forecast for rain and potential thunderstorms on Saturday has forced the cancellation of the St. John's Baseball BBQ as well as the personal appearance and ceremonial first pitch from St. John's legend and New York Mets Hall of Famer John Franco.
St. John's (20-30, 7-11) is still scheduled to take on Notre Dame (28-19, 8-10) in a doubleheader beginning at noon on May 11 before a series-finale slated for 1 p.m. on May 12. Both ends of the doubleheader will air on ESPN3, while CBS Sports Network will broadcast the finale.
Righty James Lomangino (1-4, 3.86) and lefties Sean Hagan (3-6, 5.71) and Ryan Horstman (5-5, 1.84) are slated to start for the Red Storm against Fighting Irish righties Pat Connaughton (2-2, 2.59), Adam Norton (9-2, 1.96) and Sean Fitzgerald (4-3, 4.65).
