St. John's Takes Fourth At Saint Mary's Invitational

SEASIDE, Calif. - The St. John's men's golf team took fourth place in the Saint Mary's Invitational on Tuesday, finishing the 54-hole tournament with an 887 (+23).
Three Red Storm golfers finished in the top 25 in the event as Ryan McCormick led the way with a 220 (+4) to tie for 12th overall.
Junior Dylan Crowley stepped up in the final round for St. John's thanks to four birdies to end the day at two under and tie for 19th with a 221 (+5). Only one stroke behind Crowley was junior Ben Ludlam who ended the tournament with a 222 (+6) to tie for 22nd while Obe Ayton rounded out the team total with a 224 (+8) to tie for 34th.
Freshman Sean Byrne finished tied for 102 with a 246 (+30) while John Russo carded a 242 (+26) as an individual.
St. John's took fourth place in the field of 17, finishing only one stroke behind third-place San Diego. Top-ranked California took the team title after finishing as the only team under par with an 854 (-10).
St. John's returns to action in two weeks as they head out to Erin, Wis. to compete in the Erin Hills Intercollegiate from Oct. 6-8.
