Oct. 8, 2014 QUEENS, N.Y. - In addition to finding a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll earlier in the week, junior forward Rachel Daly was tabbed National Team of the Week Honorable Mention by TopDrawerSoccer.com, it was announced yesterday.
Daly took home the honor after scoring both of her team's goals in a 2-1 overtime win against Butler on Sunday afternoon, snapping a seven-game scoring drought for the All-American. The Harrogate, England, native now has seven tallies on the year, just two off the BIG EAST lead.
Sunday's two-goal performance also had historic implications for the striker, as she moved into third place on the St. John's career lists for both goals and points, passing Lisa Anschlowar in each category.
Daly and the Red Storm return to action on Sunday afternoon, traveling to Villanova for a 1 p.m. showdown with the Wildcats.
