BEALSVILLE, Md. - Halfway through the 2014 spring season, the St. John's women's golf team will head to The Members Club at Four Streams in Bealsville, Md., for the Ninth Annual Hoya Invitational on March 31-April 1.
Coming off a tough finish at the Clover Cup on March 14-16 where the Red Storm finished 15th overall, St. John's is looking to turn things around in the second half of the season with the BIG EAST Championship only weeks away.
Junior Anna Kim and senior Harin Lee are leading the way so far this spring, each carding a 77.0 stroke average through the team's two events so far. Kim is the only member to record a Top 10 finish so far this spring, placing tied for sixth at the Kiawah Island Classic on March 2-4 with a 223 (+7).
St. John's will join 15 other teams in the field on Monday: Fairleigh Dickinson, Hofstra, Illinois State, Lehigh, Marshall, Michigan, Navy, Nova Southeastern, Penn, Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, Wagner, Yale, Youngstown State and host-Georgetown.
The Members Club at Four Streams is a par-72, 6,127-yard course that was designed by PGA Tour veteran Nick Price and famed architect Steve Smyers.
The 16-team field will tee off on Monday morning at 9 a.m. and play 36 holes, with the final 18 holes starting on Tuesday, April 1, at 9 a.m. Results will be posted online at RedStormSports.com following the conclusion of each of the two days.
