Rachel Daly Named A SoccerAmerica Preseason All-American Forward

QUEENS, N.Y. - Recently named both a first-team forward on TopDrawerSoccer.com's Best XI team and a member of the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, junior Rachel Daly has been selected as a SoccerAmerica Preseason All-American Forward.
Last season, Daly St. John's single-season records in both goals (23) and points (50) as she became the program's first-ever NSCAA All-American, earning a spot on the NSCAA Second Team All-America after being named to NSCAA All-Northeast Region First Team. Daly finished the 2013 season tied as the nation's top goal scorer in Division I, helping guide the Red Storm to the NCAA Tournament Second Round after claiming the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament win.
Daly was also the undisputed choice as the BIG EAST Offensive Player and Newcomer of the Year, while also being a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team.
The Red Storm will open up the 2014 season on Friday, Aug. 22, with a home contest against Saint Francis (Pa.) at 7:30 p.m.
