QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John’s softball head coach Amy Kvilhaug has announced the annual Red Storm Softball Camp will take place on Sunday, Sept. 7, on Red Storm Field in Queens, New York.
From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., campers will have the opportunity to compete in either the Red Storm hitting and positional play general skills camp or the Red Storm advanced pitching clinic.
The Red Storm hitting and positional play clinic is a general skills clinic that incorporates both hitting and defensive skills where athletes will be put through a hitting circuit before taking on live pitching later in the day.
The Red Storm advanced pitching clinic offers aspiring collegiate pitchers the opportunity to spend time perfecting fundamentals and continuing along on their development and improvement of off speed and movement pitches.. In the final phase of this clinic, campers will have the opportunity to compete against live hitters from the hitting clinic, as well as a chance against some of the Red Storm’s BIG EAST hitters.
Led by Kvilhaug’s current staff and players, the camps will allow campers the opportunity to learn from top Division I athletes the skills necessary to perform at the highest level. All campers are asked to bring their own equipment (i.e. bats, gloves, catcher’s gear, etc…) and ensure that they arrive on time. Registration will begin at 9:15 a.m.
For more information on both camps, including how to register, visit www.redstormsoftballcamps.com or contact Coach Kvilhaug at kvilhaua@stjohns.edu or 718-990-6178.
