QUEENS, N.Y. - A few days removed from its 2-0 blanking of CCSU, the Red Storm will look to make it three straight wins when it hosts Brown at 7 PM on Friday night at Belson Stadium.
The game will be broadcast live via StormTracker All-Access (subscription) with Ralph Bednarczyk on the call. Live stats via will also be available with a link on RedStormSports.com.
Scouting the Bears
- A member of the Ivy League, Brown has yet to play a game in 2014.
- Last season, the Bears turned in a final record of 10-6-1, good enough for a third place finish in the Ivy League behind Harvard and Penn.
- The Bears return their leading producer from 2013 in senior forward Chloe Cross, a Seattle native who tallied seven goals and five assists for 19 points last season. Aside from Cross, the Bears return only two goal scorers from their 2013 squad.
- Brown is led by legendary head coach Phil Pincince, who will begin his 38th campaign at the helm of the Bears on Friday night. In nearly four decades, Pincince has amassed a career record of 311-239-50.
Red Storm vs. Bears- The Series
- Friday night will be a rubber match between St. John's and Brown, as each squad has claimed a victory in their two career meetings.
- In each of those games, the visitor has shut out the home team, as Brown blanked the Johnnies 3-0 in 2012 at Belson Stadium before the Red Storm responded with a 4-0 win in Providence last September.
- Rachel Daly scored in the first minute of that contest last season before eventually adding two more, notching her second hat trick of the season in early September
Rachel Daly Receives Early Season Accolades
- For her dominant performances last week against Delaware and CCSU, junior Rachel Daly was recently named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
- In addition, she was also tabbed as the Big Apple Soccer Player of the Week and was given honorable mention for the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week.
