QUEENS, N.Y. - For the fifth-straight week, Rachel Daly has been honored by Top Drawer Soccer, finding an honorable mention spot on the website's national Team of the Week.
Daly earns the nod after a stellar week that saw her record four goals, including her first hat trick in over two years.
The senior forward started off the week on Thursday, scoring on a penalty kick in the Red Storm's 3-1 defeat at Georgetown.
Three days later, the Harrogate, England, native had the most memorable game of an already memorable season, registering three goals in the Red Storm's 4-0 win over Creighton. Daly scored in the 21st, 29th and 33rd minutes, needing only 12 minutes and 24 seconds to record her third career hat trick.
Daly, who continues to extend her lead on the St. John's career goals list with 46 tallies, ranks second nationally in goals this season with 15. That total is also good enough for third on the St. John's single-season record list. Daly also holds the top spot in that category, having scored 23 times as a sophomore.
Daly has now recorded a goal in six of her last seven outings, five of which have been multi-goal efforts.
The Red Storm returns to action on Sunday, traveling to The Windy City for a first-place showdown with DePaul. That game is set to kick off at 2 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
