Red Storm Concludes First Day of Mountaineer Intercollegiate

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The St. John's men's golf team carded a 319 (+31) in the first round of the Mountaineer Intercollegiate, which teed off at the Pete Dye Golf Club Monday afternoon.
Leading the Red Storm is Seung Yub Baek. The freshman from Arcadia, Calif. is tied for 35th after registering a 77 (+5).
One shot behind his teammate is Jonathan Spicci who finished the first round at 78 (+6). Fellow freshman Troy Evans posted a 79 (+7) through the first 18 holes.
Penn State holds a one stroke advantage over Connecticut after finishing the day at six strokes over par with a score of 294, while Marshall's Clark Robinson paces all individuals with a 69 (-3).
St. John's is in 14th place with Mississippi State and Seton Hall in its sights.
The Red Storm returns to action tomorrow at 9 a.m. when the team tees off for the final 18 holes of the Mountaineer Intercollegiate.
