Briana Guzman To Tryout For USA Volleyball

Feb. 17, 2015 QUEENS, N.Y. - Redshirt sophomore Briana Guzman will participate in the 2015 U.S. Women's Volleyball National Team Tryouts from Feb. 20-22 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The 230-plus athletes representing 90 colleges and universities are competing for spots on the U.S. Women's National Team, the U.S. Collegiate National Team program and for the U.S. Women's Junior National Team for athletes born in 1996 or 1997.
Three-time Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Olympic Hall of Famer Karch Kiraly and his staff will lead the three-day tryout.
In her second season in the Red and White, Guzman appeared in 31 matches, including 29 starts. The native of North Bergen, N.J., played in 98 of the team's 122 sets and led the Red Storm in blocks per set (0.93). The middle blocker was fourth on the squad in kills (120) with a .219 attacking percentage.

Tryout sessions will be streamed live on TeamUSA.org/USA-Volleyball. USA Volleyball will use #USAVTryout as the tryout hashtag for photos, notes, quotes and stories posted to its social media platforms Facebook, Twitter and Instagram under the handle @usavolleyball.
Selections for the U.S. Collegiate National Teams will be made by the end of March, while selected athletes to the U.S. Women's Junior National Team will be notified by April 31st with a public announcement expected by May 7.
