Eric DeJohn Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

QUEENS, N.Y. - For the third time this season, St. John's junior Eric DeJohn has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. The attackman earns his second honor roll nod this month and third of his career since joining the Red Storm prior to the 2014 campaign.
DeJohn scored six goals and dished out a pair of assists in a two-game week for St. John's. The junior added four groundballs, one caused turnover and posted a .353 shooting percentage.
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., DeJohn opened his week by tallying three points on two goals and one assist in the Red Storm's narrow 10-7 defeat at Hofstra on March 17. The junior's first goal tied the score at 1-all in the first quarter while his second gave St. John's a 6-5 lead late in the third quarter. DeJohn added a career-high four groundballs and caused one turnover against the Pride.
The junior capped his week with a four-goal, one-assist performance in another close defeat as the Red Storm fell, 13-11, at Holy Cross on March 21. DeJohn scored on half of his shots against the Crusaders, finding the back of the net twice in the first quarter to help St. John's open up a 5-2 lead and once each in the third and fourth quarters. The attackman also recorded one assist in the game's opening stanza.
With 23 goals and 13 assists so far this campaign, DeJohn ranks 25th in NCAA D-I in points per game (4.00) and 26th in the country in goals per game (2.56).
