Red Storm Falls To Xavier, Beats Seton Hall

QUEENS, N.Y. -- The St. John's women's tennis team went 1-1 this weekend, as it faced conference foes Xavier and Seton Hall. On Friday, Xavier handed the Red Storm its first conference loss, 6-1, at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center before St. John's bounced back on Saturday and topped Seton Hall, 7-0.

Sophomore Anna Morozova went undefeated on the weekend. She earned the only point for the Red Storm on Friday against Xavier in a straight-set victory and then followed that up with a three set win on Saturday, playing in the No. 1 singles slot.

Morozova paired up with Natalie Vavulina in the first singles slot in both matches and the duo went undefeated on the weekend as well.
Freshman Zofia Stanisz earned her tenth singles victory of the season on Saturday against Seton Hall in the fourth singles slot winning 6-3, 6-1.

With the win against Seton Hall on Sunday, the Red Storm improved to 10-8 on the season and 4-1 in BIG EAST play.
