April 13, 2015 QUEENS, N.Y. (April 13, 2015) -- Senior Erin Burner earned her second BIG EAST Player of the Week honor of the season after an impressive offensive performance this week. Fellow senior Francesca Carrullo also picked up her second-consecutive weekly accolade after landing a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this week.
Ă‚
Burner dominated at the plate in the Red Storm's 4-0 week, going 7-for-10 (.700 with three doubles, three home runs, 12 RBI and three walks (including two intentional) for a 1.900 slugging percentage and a .769 on-base percentage. Among her three home runs was a first-inning grand slam on Sunday against Providence for the 40th homer of her career, leaving her only two shy of matching the program record (42) set by Kacee Cox (2008-12).
Ă‚
Carrullo continued her impressive performance in the circle with a pair of complete-game victories over Providence this weekend, allowing only one earned run on five hits in 12.0 innings of work for a 0.58 ERA while striking out seven to hold the Friars to a .135 batting average.
