QUEENS, N.Y. -- For the sixth time this season, St. John's junior attackman Eric DeJohn has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. No player in program history has earned more selections to the conference's weekly honor roll in a single season since the Red Storm joined the conference in 2010.
DeJohn scored his seventh hat trick of the campaign while also tallying three assists to finish with a team-high six points in St. John's road defeat at Villanova on Saturday night. The junior recorded three of his points in the opening quarter of play as the Red Storm raced out to a 4-1, then 6-3 lead. DeJohn took nine shots in the contest, putting five on net, while committing just one turnover.
The Syracuse, N.Y., native has tallied a team-high 59 points and 24 assists in his second season at St. John's, and is also tied for the team lead with 35 goals. DeJohn currently ranks 12th in NCAA D-I and second in the BIG EAST in points per game at 4.54, while he is tied for second in the conference at 2.69 goals per game and ranks third in assists per game at 1.85.
Still in the running for a berth into the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship, the Red Storm closes out regular-season play on Saturday, April 25, traveling to our nation's capital to face Georgetown at 1 p.m.
