GAME SUSPENDED: BIG EAST Semifinal Game Halted Due To Rain

May 8, 2015 ROSEMONT, Ill. -- With the tying run on third base and two outs, the Red Storm was unable to tie things up before the rain started to come down as the lightening detection system's horn went off, forcing the teams off the field before an official call was made to halt the game until Saturday, May 9.

The game will resume with Erin Burner on third base and Brittany Garcia at the plate with two outs and the Red Storm trailing, 2-1, against Villanova in the bottom of the first.

Play will resume at Noon ET (11 a.m. CT) and will be aired live on FOX Sports 2. Following the conclusion of the game, the winner of the game will take on Seton Hall in the BIG EAST Championship game three hours after the final out in the morning game is made.
