QUEENS, N.Y. - A star player for the Red Storm during the 2008 and 2009 seasons, C.J. Ludemann was named to the W-League All-Northeastern Conference Team, it was announced yesterday by the league office.
Ludemann, who led the Long Island Rough Riders to a 6-4-2 record and a third place finish in the league's Northeastern Conference, was one of three Rough Riders to earn the honor.
The Stony Brook, N.Y., native played in all 12 games for Long Island this season, ranking second on the team with four goals and leading the squad with four assists.
Ludemann was not the only member of the St. John's soccer family to lace up for the Rough Riders this summer, as she was joined by current team members Shelby Halász, Diana Poulin and Morgan Tinari.
Ludemann was a key factor in helping the Red Storm log a 21-12-7 record during her time in Queens. As a junior transfer from Duke in 2008, Ludemann registered two goals and three assists in 18 appearances before tallying two goals and a team-best seven assists as a senior in 2009. That season, Ludemann was instrumental in helping the Red Storm reach its first-ever NCAA Tournament.
The 2015 edition of St. John's Women's Soccer kicks off its season in just under one month, facing off against Stony Brook in its season-opener on Aug. 21.
