St. John's Set For Home Opener Against Iona

QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's volleyball will look to get back into the win column this week with its home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Carnesecca Arena against Iona at 7:30 p.m.
The Red Storm (1-2) owns a 7-0 all-time record against the Gaels, including a 3-0 home victory in their last meeting of the series on Sept. 18, 2012.

SCOUTING THE GAELS (2-1)
- The Gaels finished eighth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in 2014 with a 10-24 overall record and a 5-13 record in league play.
- Iona was voted to place eighth in the MAAC Preseason Poll.
- Head coach Jon Killingbeck is in his fourth season with the Gaels.
- St. John's owns a 7-0 all-time record against the Gaels, including a 3-0 home victory in their last meeting of the series on Sept. 18, 2012.
UP NEXT
- St. John's will travel to Moraga, Calif., to play in the Saint Mary's Invitational which begins on Friday, Sept. 4.
- The Red Storm will open the two-day event with a match against Bethune-Cookman (Sept. 4) before matches against Fresno State and host-Saint Mary's on Sept. 5 to conclude the weekend.
