Top Drawer Soccer Release
QUEENS, N.Y. - For the second-consecutive week, Rachel Daly has been recognized as one of the nation's top performers, finding a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week Honorable Mention list.
The senior forward from Harrogate, England, garners the accolade following a weekend that saw her record two goals and an assist in the Red Storm's 3-1 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday night. The victory, which moved the Red Storm to 8-1-0 on the season, marked the 12th multi-goal performance of her St. John's career and the third time during her tenure at Queens that she has recorded multiple goals in consecutive games.
Daly's two goals also helped her shoot up the St. John's career list in that category, passing Cristin Burtis for second place all-time with 38 tallies. With 10 assists for her career as well, Daly's 86 points place her in the second slot on that list. With nine regular season games remaining, Daly is two goals and five points away from tying for first place all-time in those two categories; she trails Adriana Viola in both.
Daly and the Red Storm kick off BIG EAST action on Sunday night, hosting Seton Hall at 7 p.m. on Belson Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on BIG EAST Digital Network. BEDN is available on the FOXSportsGO.com and the FOXSportsGO app on tablets and mobile devices.
