St. John's Head Coach Chris Mullin...
On his thoughts about the game:
"We just gave them too much space. They run a really nice offense and they're very patient and disciplined. They make you guard for a good portion of the shot clock and have nice ball movement. I thought the first half dictated everything. Letting them get looks like that and run free is not the way St. John's-Georgetown basketball is supposed to be played."
On what went wrong offensively:
"[It was a] combination of things. We had trouble with turnovers. I told our guys I'd rather have a bad shot than a turnover. And the next step is to get better shots and make shots. You have to live with missing shots, that's part of the game."
On L.J. Peak and Isaac Copeland:
"They have a nice offense. From my standpoint it was way too easy. [They] were too comfortable and there was no resistance."
On Durand Johnson playing limited minutes:
"He's been great. D.J. is one of our leaders emotionally and has great energy. He's played well. A game like tonight when you get down you just try to search for anything. I wouldn't over analyze that."
On being outrebounded:
"That's part of putting your imprint in the game. I always tell them when you play no matter what, if you play with force and pace, you're going to at least let your opponent know it's going to be a tough night and you're going to compete. It's something they're learning. It's part of the process."
On his experience as a head coach:
"It's been good. I've enjoyed it. We have a bunch of nice, good guys. Over the years, the NBA has become much younger so it hasn't been that much of an adjustment. Going back to St. John's was easy because I'm from there."
