St. John's Welcomes Wagner for Tuesday Showdown

QUEENS, N.Y. -- After clinching its 12th BIG EAST series in a row with a 2-1 showing at Georgetown, the St. John's softball team (15-13, 2-1 BIG EAST) returns to Queens on Tuesday for a 2:30 p.m. showdown against Wagner (9-11) at Red Storm Field.
Leading Off
The midweek game will be aired on ESPN3 with Ralph Bednarczyk (PxP) and D.J. Sixsmith (color) on the call.
St. John's took two of three games against Georgetown last weekend to open BIG EAST play.
After splitting Friday's doubleheader, St. John's came back and clinched the series with a 7-1 win over the Hoyas on Saturday.
Wagner heads to Queens with a 9-11 overall record after splitting a doubleheader against Yale on Saturday.
Series History
St. John's owns a 14-4 overall record against the Seahawks.
The Red Storm has won three-straight against Wagner, outscoring them 41-13 in those contests. Wagner and St. John's have not played each other since April 8, 1999. On that day, the Red Storm swept a doubleheader, 20-4 and 16-5, respectively.

The Red Storm is coming off a 2-1 showing at Georgetown.
St. John's has registered more hits (+33), runs (+20), doubles (+18), home runs (+3) and fewer strikeouts (-37) than its opponents.
Junior Grace Kramer collected two wins last weekend to raise her record to 7-5 in the circle. Kramer went 2-1 against the Hoyas with 10 strikeouts and posted a 4.20 ERA in 16.2 innings.
Sophomore Savannah Warren won BIG EAST Player of the Week after hitting .625 and recording seven RBI and three runs. Warren drove in a career-high five RBI and hit her first grand slam in the conference opener.
Over her past 10 games, junior Kaitlyn Wilkens is hitting .400 with a home run, eight RBI and five runs scored.
Sophomore left fielder Lauren Zick has been swinging a hot bat for the Johnnies. In her past 16 games, Zick is leading the team in runs (11), stolen bases (6) and is second in hits (13).
Brittany Garcia hit .333 with four RBI and three runs last weekend. Garcia leads the way with a .380 batting average.
Carly Williams has picked up her production in the past nine games, hitting .385 with two home runs and nine RBI.
Krystal Puga leads the team in home runs (5), RBI (23) and is second on the team in hits (25) and doubles (5).
SCOUTING REPORT: Wagner Seahawks (9-11)
The Seahawks are coming off a doubleheader split against Yale where they won the first game, 5-1, and lost the finale, 1-0.
• Wagner is 9-11 on the season and 3-2 in its last five games.
As a team, the Seahawks are hitting .286 and scoring just over four runs per contest.
The offense features six players batting over .300, including junior Hana Gilbert who leads the team with 18 RBI, two home runs and six doubles.
Junior outfielder Brianna Tredway and freshman utility player Karen Prihoda have combined for 30 runs scored and 12 RBI as the team's second and third leading hitters.
Junior McKaleigh Goodale and sophomore Morgan Brown lead a pitching staff that has posted a 3.57 ERA, while holding its opponents to a .284 batting average.
Goodale is 5-4 with a team-low 2.22 ERA in 60.0 innings pitched.
Brown is 4-6 with a 3.11 ERA and leads the team in appearances (13), innings pitched (69.2), strikeouts (47) and saves (1).
