QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's lacrosse senior goalie Harry Burke has been named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week in the conference's final weekly awards of 2016 following a career-best performance in the Red Storm's 8-5 victory over Georgetown this past weekend.
Making one final start in his career, Burke stifled the Georgetown attack and held the Hoyas to just five goals as he posted a career-high 15 saves. The Hillsborough, N.J., native saved 15-of-20 shots on goal for a .750 save percentage and added seven groundballs in the process.
Burke also collected three caused turnovers on the day including, a pair of picked-off passes around the net.
As a member of the eight-man senior class for this year's Red Storm, Burke was honored in an on-field pregame Senior Day ceremony attended by family, friends, teammates and St. John's Athletics administrators.
