Additional Guests Announced for Bullpen Winter Banquet

QUEENS, N.Y. - With the St. John's Baseball program's premier preseason event just over a week away, Head Coach Ed Blankmeyer has announced several prominent additions to the guest list for next Thursday's Bullpen Winter Banquet at the Edison Ballroom in Midtown.
In addition to honored guest and 2016 American League Cy Young Award Winner Rick Porcello, the dinner, which will be emceed by former St. John's standout, major leaguer and current television analyst C.J. Nitkowski, will now also feature the likes of several prominent figures in New York baseball history. Slated to attend are six-time MLB All-Star and former Mets manager Willie Randolph, St. John's legend and four-time MLB All-Star John Franco, 18-year MLB veteran Rick Cerone and former MLB pitching coach Rick Peterson.
Former St. John's hurler and six-year MLB veteran Anthony Varvaro will also be recognized at the event, as the program will honor the New York City native with the Alumni Achievement Award. Varvaro recently made headlines in the area for graduating from the Port Authority Police Academy after retiring from baseball.
Cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner and the evening's program set to commence at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the cost of $375 per person, but tables of 10 can be purchased for $3,500. St. John's Baseball graduates of the past decade can secure tickets to the event for $325.
