Maya Singleton Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Queens, N.Y. - For the second-straight week and third time this season Maya Singleton has been recognized by the league for her on-court performance, earning a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Singleton was a key element for the Red Storm over the last two games, averaging a double-double with 14.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game.
The senior forward dominated defensively for the Johnnies in their overtime victory against Kansas on Monday. The Indian Head, Md., native grabbed 19 defensive rebounds accompanied by five offensive boards to tie a 41-year old program record of 24 rebounds set by Mary Doyle against Brooklyn on Jan. 19, 1976. Singleton also scored 14 points and added three steals for her seventh double-double of the season.
Despite the Red Storm's loss against Buffalo on Thursday, Singleton paced the Johnnies with 15 points, hitting 7-of-8 shots from the charity stripe and grabbing two steals for the Johnnies.
On the season, Singleton tops the BIG EAST in rebounding at 11.6 boards per game in addition to ranking second in the conference in blocked shots (1.5 bpg) and third in steals (2.4 spg).
Singleton and the Red Storm return to action on Dec. 28, when they open up BIG EAST play against Marquette at the Al McGuire Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
