Round Two of Hartford Hawks Invitational Postponed

South Kent, Conn. -Dark skies at the Bull's Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Conn., forced postponement of round two, as the St. John's men's golf team along with 20 other programs competing in the Hartford Hawks Invitational will resume action on Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
The Red Storm posted a 310 (+22) in round one of the Invitational to sit ahead of Fairfield, St. Francis and Holy Cross in the team standings.
James Smoot shot a team low, three-over 75 to lead the Johnnies, while Gerald Mackedon put up a 77 and Matthew Sweeney registered a 78. Andrew Baek and Jonathan Spicci are tied following round one, each recording an 80.
Leading the individual category is Tyler Kertson of Boston College who shot an impressive eight-under 64 to hold a two-stroke lead over Juuso Kahlos of UCF.
Sitting comfortably atop the team leader board is UCF as the Knights posted a 15-under 273, putting them 10-strokes ahead of second place Towson.
The Johnnies return to Bull's Bridge Golf Club on Tuesday to finish the remainder of round two, followed by the third and final round.
