Intrasquad scrimmage to raise money for the 2019 season
QUEENS, N.Y. (Oct. 3, 2018) – St. John's softball will host its annual 100-Out game on Thursday afternoon at Red Storm Field. The 13th edition of the fundraiser will kick off at 2 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will help supplement the travel budget for the season, including a trip to Florida during Spring Break, and upgrades to the team's batting cages and dugouts.
St. John's will split into two squads and play until 100 total outs are recorded. This allows the team to practice in-game situations in preparation for the Red Storm's 2019 campaign. The rain date for the event will be Thursday, Oct. 11.
Since the creation of the event in 2006, the donations from the 100-Out fundraiser have helped the program obtain a new pitching machine, a V-flex hitting system, while also helping the squad alleviate travel costs for a schedule the sees the Red Storm face some of the top teams in the country.
For those not able to make it to the event, donations are being accepted year round. A check can also be made payable to St. John's Softball sent to the address listed below. For more information, click here.
