Curteeona Brelove Named MBWA Player of the Week

Brelove averaged 15.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for St. John’s
After recording double figures in back-to-back contests, Curteeona Brelove has earned Co-Player of the Week accolades from the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA), it was announced on Tuesday.
A 6-foot-2 senior forward from Malone, Fla., Brelove averaged 15.0 points per game on a 59.1 (13-of-22 FG) percent shooting effort from the field. The redshirt senior also brought down 8.0 boards per contest, leading the Red Storm to a 1-1 week.
Brelove began the week by tying a career-high 20 points against Delaware State. Additionally, Brelove closed out play one off her career-best with 13 rebounds en route to her secound double-double of the season. The redshirt senior was one of three St. John's players to record a double-double, helping the Red Storm to an 82-44 home court victory over the Hornets.
Despite falling to ACC foe Wake Forest on Sunday, Brelove continued to produce for the Red Storm. The Malone, Fla., native was part of a trio of St. John's players who finished in double figures on the road, turning in 10 points on a 4-of-7 shooting effort.
Brelove and the Red Storm will return to action on Dec. 6, when the team welcomes Yale to Carnesecca Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN3.
