Naya Lipkens Selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

Lipkens will now be on the final ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team
Redshirt freshman Naya Lipkens has earned Academic All-District First Team honors as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
As a first team selection, the Johnnies' goalkeeper is now added to the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America consideration.
A Biomedical Science major with a perfect 4.0 GPA, Lipkens started between the pipes in 10 of the team's 18 games this season. The Bloomfield, Conn., native grabbed a team-high 53 saves for the Red Storm, stopping 4.42 shots per game to rank fourth in the conference at the conclusion of the regular season. Lipkens contributed to a pair of Red Storm shutouts this year, helping the Johnnies to wins over Syracuse and Cornell. With two clean sheets, Lipkens placed inside the top-10 in the BIG EAST following league action.
St. John's players have now accumulated a total of 17 CoSIDA Academic All-District selections since the 2002 season, including 13 first team honorees. The program also boasts five CoSIDA Academic All-America selections. Most recently, the Johnnies placed former defender Mecara Bruce on the Academic All-America Second Team in 2018.
