Barro in First Following Day One of the Boston College Intercollegiate

Barro leads the way following a pair of 73s over the first two rounds
Freshman Laia Barro carded a pair of 73s to sit in a tie for first place following 36 holes of play at the Boston College Intercollegiate on Monday.
Competing as an individual, Barro is off to an outstanding start for the Red Storm. The rookie from Makati City, Philippines, drained five birdies on the day to post a combined two-over 146.
Following a bogey in the opening hole, Linda Wang carded four-straight pars before draining a birdie on the par-four 14th hole. Wang went on to drop two more birdies along with nine par shots to post a one-under 71 after 18 holes. The senior wrapped up the day with a 77 over the second round to sit in a five-way tie for third.
Freshman Cloe Clocchiatti carded a 75 and 81 over the first 36 holes, while reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Year Jessie Kweon followed Clocchiatti with an 80 and 77.
Junior Andrea Sanchez turned in scores of 78 and 80. Senior Kaitleen Shee rounded out scoring for the Red Storm shooting an 88 and 83.
Playing as an individual, Jill Beglin shot an 82 and 78 over the first 36 holes.
Seattle and CSU Fullerton lead the way after two rounds, posting a 596 (+20). As a team, the Johnnies turned in a day-one 619 (+43) to place eighth overall.
The Red Storm will begin its third and final round of action on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
