St. John’s Heads to Creighton for Sunday Showdown

The Johnnies and Bluejays will kick off a 2 p.m. ET on BEDN
The St. John's women's soccer team will play its final road game of the regular season on Sunday afternoon, as the Johnnies travel to Omaha, Neb., for a 2 p.m. ET meeting with Creighton.
The contest between the Red Storm and the Bluejays will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports.
St. John's (8-5-2, 4-3-1 BIG EAST) enters Sunday's contest on the heels of back-to-back shutout victories. After defeating Providence, 1-0, on Oct. 17 at Belson Stadium, the Johnnies knocked off Seton Hall, 1-0, on Thursday evening at Owen T. Carroll Field.
Red Storm senior Maia Cabrera scored the game-winning goal in the 44th minute for the Johnnies in their win over the Pirates. The tally marked Cabrera's second of the season and the fifth of her Red Storm career. Juniors Jessica Garziano and Angelina Scoma each picked up an assist on the score. In all eight wins for the Johnnies this season, they have found the back of the net first.
All eight of the Red Storm's wins this season have come via the shutout. Naya Lipkens has started every match between the pipes this season, earning seven clean sheets and one shared shutout. A redshirt junior from Bloomfield Conn., Lipkens ranks third in the BIG EAST in both shutouts (7.1) and save percentage (.810).
Graduate student Zsani Kajan continues to be the engine behind the Red Storm's offense this season, as she leads the BIG EAST in scoring with 12 goals, including a trio of game-winners. With a career-high 12 tallies on the year, Kajan has bumped her overall goal total to 40 and is tied for second on the Red Storm's all-time scoring list.
Creighton enters Sunday's contest with a record of 8-5-2, including a 4-3-1 mark in BIG EAST action. The Bluejays were eliminated from the BIG EAST Tournament following a 2-0 setback to DePaul on Thursday evening.
Creighton is led offensively by sophomore Abigail Santana, who has found the back of the net a team-best eight times this season. Junior Keelan Terrell has played every minute of every game this season for the Bluejays, recording seven shutouts. Terrell has also turned aside 58 shots and is boasting a 0.84 GAA.
Sunday will mark the ninth all-time meeting between St. John's and Creighton and the first since 2019. The Johnnies lead the all-time series, 4-2-2.
Following Sunday's game, the Red Storm will return home to Belson Stadium on Thursday to wrap up regular season action with Villanova. The two teams are set to kick off at 7 p.m.
