St. John’s Competes at BIG EAST Cross Country Championships

Claire Cushing secures a top-40 finish at Northview Church
CARMEL, Ind. (Oct. 29, 2021)- The St. John's cross country team fought through cold weather and muddy terrain to finish 10th at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships at Northview Church on Friday morning.
Against the best of the BIG EAST, Claire Cushing paced the Red Storm with a 36th place finish and a time of 22:36.2. The junior out of Ontario finished six spots ahead of her previous conference championship finish in March of this year.
After missing the team's last meet with calf tightness, Katherine Bruno returned to form with a solid time of 23:34, good for a top-60 overall finish.
Mia Forster crossed the finish line of her conference championship debut with 24:16.8 on the clock, which gave her 69th place overall. Hannah Huleatt traversed the Northview Church course with a time of 24:57.9.
Rounding out the scoring for the Johnnies was freshman Gabriella Caronia who finished her first BIG EAST Championships with a mark of 25:20.7.
Tiffany-Ann Matturro and Jenna D'Onofrio posted times of 26:31.9 and 27:18.3, respectively.
