St. John’s Competes at BIG EAST Cross Country Championships

The Red Storm finished in tenth place at the meet
CARY, N.C. (March 5, 2021) – The St. John's cross country team earned a tenth-place finish at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships in Cary, N.C., on Friday.
In one of the premier events in the country, sophomore Claire Cushing secured a top-50 finish in the 6K with a time of 22:11.3. Senior Katherine Bruno followed closed behind, finishing in 60th with a mark of 22:58.3.
"I was very pleased with our team's effort today, as we posted personal bests across the board," said Head Coach Jim Hurt. "Our ladies competed hard in their first and only cross country meet of the year, and I'm very proud of their efforts."
Freshman Hannah Huleatt crossed the finish line with a time of 23:06.6, while Phoebe Faley posted a mark of 24:15.7.
Sophomores Grace Adolphe and Tiffany-Ann Matturro registered times of 24:55.5 and 25:40.9, respectively.
