St. John’s Concludes Play at Ross Collegiate Classic

Sophomore Alex Kyriacou led the way for the Red Storm at the two-day 54 hole event
The St. John's men's golf team wrapped up play at the Ross Collegiate Classic on Tuesday, placing 11th overall in the standings.
Loyola MD claimed the team title with a combined score of 875 (+11). Tommy Lamb of UNC Greensboro earned medalist honors with a four-under 212.
Sophomore Alex Kyriacou led the Red Storm, turning in scores of 73-75-74 to tie for 16th overall in the standings. Kyriacou carded nine birdies and an eagle over three rounds.
After turning in a first-round 80 on Monday, junior Tyler Gerbavsits wrapped up play with a 76 and 78 over the final two rounds. Ryan Rittberger, finished one stroke back of Gerbavsits, carding a pair of 76s on the day.
Jack Simon and Joseph Busiello rounded out scoring for the Red Storm, turning in three-round scores of 236 (77-78-81) and 239 (83-76-80), respectively.
Sophomore Gage Wolfle and freshman Doug Beney, who played as individuals, turned in scores of 244 (84-83-77) and 251 (83-84-84) over the two-day 54-hole event.
The Red Storm will return to action on March 15, as the team travels to Branchburg, N.J., for the Peacock Invitational.
