Red Storm Concludes Play at the Peacock Invitational

Ryan Rittberger carded a 71 to finish in a tie for third
Despite playing in subfreezing temperatures, the St. John's men's golf team placed seventh overall on Monday at the Peacock Invitational.
Originally scheduled for two rounds, the invitational was cut down to 18 holes due to the inclement weather.
Sophomore Ryan Rittberger led the way for the Red Storm, carding a 71 to finish in a tie for third. Junior Jack Simon also turned in a top-10 performance for the Johnnies, signing off on a 74 to sit in a five-way tie for eighth place.
Sophomore Alex Kyriacou finished six strokes back of Simon, signing off on an 80 after 18 holes of play.
Juniors Tyler Gerbavsits and Joseph Busiello rounded out scoring for the Red Storm, each carding an 85 on the day.
Bryant University secured the team title, shooting a 300 (+20). Jason Salameno of Fairfield University earned medalist honors with a one-under 69, beating Oisin Deveruex of Iona by one shot.
The Johnnies will return to action on April 1, when the team travels to Ellington, Conn., for the UConn Collegiate Invitational.
