Jack Simon Named BIG EAST Male Co-Golfer of the Week

Simon named league’s top golfer for the third-straight week

After claiming his second individual title of the season at The Doc Gimmler on Sunday, junior Jack Simon has been named the BIG EAST Male Co-Golfer of the Week.

Following a spectacular performance in the Red Storm's home event at Bethpage Golf Club in Farmingdale, N.Y., Simon has now been named the league's top male golfer for the third-straight week.

The Sparta, N.J., native shot a 6-under 204 to earn medalist honors for the second time this season. Simon fired a 68 in all three rounds of The Doc Gimmler, draining a tournament-best 14 birdies over 54 holes.

Simon is boasting a 73.2 stroke average over eight events this season to lead the Red Storm squad and sit inside the top-10 among golfers in the BIG EAST.

Simon and the Johnnies return to action on April 26-28, as the team travels to Bowling Green, Fla., for the BIG EAST Championship.
