St. John’s Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honor

The Red Storm cross country team posted a 3.58 cumulative GPA
QUEENS, N.Y. (April 3, 2021) – The St. John's cross country team has received national recognition for its excellence in the classroom, earning the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) Division I All-Academic Team honor.
As a team, the Red Storm posted a 3.58 cumulative GPA and was one of the 255 programs to maintain a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
"We are most proud of our team's great work in the classroom as well as on the athletic field," said Head Coach Jim Hurt. "Running cross country is physically and mentally demanding with miles of running each day. Their success in the classroom is a testament to their discipline and work ethic in everything they do."
BYU was named the Women's Scholar Team of the Year in NCAA Division I Cross Country for the first time in program history. The Cougars, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.52, won the team title last month at the 2020 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.
