Jack Simon Named to PING All-Northeast Region Team

Simon recognized by PING for the first time in his Red Storm career
St. John's junior Jack Simon was named to the 2021 PING All-Northeast Region Team, announced Saturday morning by the GCAA.

A three-time BIG EAST Golfer of the Week and All-BIG EAST Second Team selection, Simon finished inside the top-10 in five of the Red Storm's eight events this spring, tying for a league-most two first place finishes.

With a pair of wins through eight events this year, Simon is one of just 11 golfers in program history to earn medalist honors twice in a season. Simon posted a 73.2 stroke average on the year to lead the Red Storm and rank seventh overall in the conference.

Simon recorded his first individual title of the year at the Red Storm Dual Match on April 6. Simon drained a tournament-best four birdies over 18 holes to finish at 1-under 71. Just over a week later, Simon helped lift the Red Storm to its first-ever team title at The Doc Gimmler. At the Johnnies' annual home event, Simon shot a three-round 6-under 204 for his second individual title.

Simon produced his best round of the season during day one of the Wildcat Spring Invitational. The Sparta, N.J., native signed off on a career-low 4-under 66 before completing the two-day event at even-par 140 to finish second out of 94 golfers.

With Simon's contributions over the 2021 spring slate, the Red Storm won a BIG EAST best five team titles.
