St. John’s Softball Earn Second Consecutive BIG EAST Team Academic Excellence Award

The Red Storm earns the accolade with the highest grade point average in the conference
The St. John's softball team earned the BIG EAST Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2020-21 academic year, the conference announced on Thursday.
The Red Storm finished the year with a 3.804 cumulative grade point average, the fourth highest overall of the BIG EAST teams awarded this year and highest among the nine softball teams in conference.
This marks the second straight year the Johnnies have been recognized with Team Academic Excellence award and a GPA improvement over last year's team who earned the accolade with a 3.685 average.
This award caps off a solid spring for the Red Storm that saw Erin Brown, Peyton Cody, Kaitlin Mattera and Marissa Rizzi earn BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll spots at some point during the 2021 season.
