Women’s Golf Wraps up Play at Princeton Invitational

Kweon and Kusnowo lead the way for the Red Storm
The St. John's women's golf team completed play at the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, placing 12th overall in the standings.
St. John's senior Jessie Kweon and sophomore Angelica Kusnowo paced the field for the Red Storm, each turning in a three-round score of 226 (+10). Kweon saw her best effort come in the opening round on Saturday, as she fired off five birdies for a score of 2-under 70. Kusnowo's highlight performance came in round two of the event, as the Chino Hills, Calif., native used a bogey-free back nine to finish at 1-under 71.
Junior Laia Barro, who was competing as an individual, finished five-strokes back of Kweon and Kusnowo with scores of 74-80-77-231. Classmate Cloe Clocchiatti signed off on a 78-76-78-232.
Freshman Karen Beglin and graduate student Andrea Sanchez wrapped up scoring for the Red Storm squad, turning in three-round scores of 238 and 245, respectively.
Amber Thornton of the University at Albany claimed medalist honors for the weekend, carding a three-round 6-under 210. Host school Princeton earned the team title posting a even-par 864 over 54 holes.
The Johnnies will return to action on Oct. 11-12, traveling to Wallingford, Conn., for the Quinnipiac Classic.
