Red Storm will compete in five events in the spring
QUEENS, N.Y. (DEC. 9, 2022) – In her 19th season at the helm of the St. John's women golf team, Head Coach Ambry Bishop-Santillo announced the 2023 spring season schedule on Friday.
After competing in four events in the fall, the squad will partake in five outings in the spring. The slate features events in four different states, with only one similarity from last spring's schedule. After ending the fall with a fourth place finish at the Lehigh Invitational, Coach Bishop-Santillo and her team hopes to build on that this spring.
The Red Storm will open its season at the Columbia Classic starting February 11th. The Three-day event will be hosted by Columbia University at Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla.
After a month break of competition, the team will return to action with its second consecutive appearance in the Spring Break Shootout hosted by Western Kentucky on March 13th-14th. Last spring the squad finished eighth at the event while Angelica Kusnowo and Cloe Clocchiatti tied for 13th place of 84 golfers.
The Red Storm will close out March on the 27th at the Kingsmill Invitational hosted by William and Mary. It will be St. John's first visit to the Kingsmill Resort Course since 2018, when the team finished second overall, and Kaitleen Shee took home the individual title.
On April 10th, St. John's will host the Red Storm Invitational for the second consecutive year. Last season's event took place in the fall of 2021, and was canceled after the first day of competition. The two-day event will once again take place at Saint Andrew's Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.
The Johnnies will close out the 2023 spring season at the BIG EAST Championship, set to open on April 17th. The three-day even will be hosted at the Riverton Pointe Golf Club for the first time after recommendation for the conference's coaches.
