The Red Storm drops conference clash at UConn, 93-38
HARTFORD, Conn. (Feb. 25, 2022) – The St. John's women's basketball team fell to No. 7/8 Connecticut, 93-38, at the XL Center on Friday night.
Kadaja Bailey and Camree Clegg posted nine points apiece to lead the Red Storm (11-17, 7-11 BIG EAST). Rayven Peeples crashed the boards, coming away with a team-best eight rebounds during the loss.
Azzi Fudd led all players in scoring, posting 19 points for UConn (21-5, 15-1 BIG EAST) as she went 7-of-9 from the field and 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. Aaliyah Edwards posted seven rebounds while adding 16 points. Evina Westbrook came off the bench and dished out 10 assists and came away with seven rebounds.
Up next, the Red Storm will head to Marquette for the team's regular-season finale on Sunday. Tip-off from the Al McGuire Center is slated for 3 p.m. ET on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
