St. John’s Finishes Third at Richmond Tri-Match

Jessie Kweon shoots even on the final day to notch a third-place finish
RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 28, 2022)– In its first competition of 2022, the St. John's women's golf team logged a third-place finish at the Richmond Tri-Match at Independence Golf Course on Monday.
As a team, the Johnnies posted a 306 (+18) during the final day of competition to close out the tournament with an overall score of 609 (+33). Richmond claimed the top spot, shooting a 36-hole score of 600 (+24), while Seton Hall shot a combined 603 (+27) to claim second.
Jessie Kweon was the top finisher for the Red Storm, placing third as she shot 72 during the final day of competition to post a 148 for the tournament. Angelica Kusnowo finished one stroke behind Kweon, recording a 76 mark for an overall score of 149. Andrea Sanchez tied for 10th place, coming into the clubhouse with an 81 to finish at 156.
Cloe Clocchiatti shot a 77, finishing with a 157 mark to tie for 12th while Amy Kim rounded out the Johnnie squad tied for 20th when she went shot an 87 in the final round to finish the tournament at 166.
Competing individually, Karen Beglin tied for 10th place, shooting a 76 (+4) on the final day and 156 overall. Laia Barro tied for 15th overall, shooting a 79 (+7) to close out the tournament at 158.
St. John's will be back in action at the Spring Break Shootout at Lake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City, Fla., on March 14.
